This Rally Was About Vets!
The Million Vet March on the DC Memorials was planned by veterans and it was done for veterans. They tore down the Barry-cades and opened up the war memorials because closing them is the same as any desecration of sacred ground. These memorials are no different than burial grounds.
The media painted a distorted picture of what went on this past Sunday to demean the effort.
CNN was probably the worst in news reporting on the Million Vet March on DC. They claimed it was a Tea Party rally because they saw Gadsden flags. They have no clue as to the meaning of the flag nor do they understand that it is a military flag that originated with Benjamin Franklin. It was made popular recently by the Tea Party but it was always popular with the military. It was a symbol of the American colonies and of freedom and independence.
The image on the flag was used by the first Navy and the Culpeper band.
Most importantly, it was the first United States flag, later replaced by the stars and stripes.
Before I go on, people should know that the media is intimately connected to Mr. Obama. CNN’s deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is the wife of Tom Nides who was Hillary Clinton’s deputy until February.
CBS News President David Rhodes’ brother is Obama Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes. Ben Rhodes, is an Obama spokesperson who was instrumental in changing the Benghazi Talking Points.
ABC News president Ben Sherwood’s sister, Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, is Special Assistant to Barack Obama on national security affairs.
Getting a fair shake in the media is difficult at best unless you are an Obama devotee.
The media is biased and they want our complete surrender.
The media attempted to say this rally was a Tea Party rally. That is convenient because they have already successfully demonized the Tea Party and it saves them a lot of time and effort as they demonize this rally. The overwhelming number of attendees were veterans.
Some of the veterans in the crowd are liberals who booed Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz – hardly a Tea Party rally.
I don’t know if any Tea Party people were there. I heard there were some who stayed for the rally. The day before, the Tea Party attended a conservative summit and had a clean up the mall event.
This rally was by veterans and for veterans. It was to honor the sacrifice WW II vets made to their country.
They blame Mr. Obama for closing the Memorials because he closed open air memorials at great expense merely to be vindictive. The people he hurt were the military.
At one point, CNN was booed loudly by the crowd and I imagine that didn’t encourage them to present fair and honest coverage. They are not known for that to begin with.
Take a look at the crowd – do they look like Tea Party or military?
This rally was for our veterans and especially for our World War II veterans because we are losing 1100 of them a day and they are the ones being shut out of the memorial as a charity attempts to take them to view their memorial before they die.
They must be allowed to see their memorial!
Take a look at this video which shows the taking down of the Barry-cades:
Just as an aside, while I was sitting in a Burger King at a rest stop on my way back from DC, CNN was on the TV. They spent less than a minute to say the Senate reached no agreement on the shutdown. They then spent the rest of the segment, until the break, discussing an apple game called ‘candy crush.’ They couldn’t stop themselves from expounding on it. This is what CNN thinks is news and this is why few people watch them.
