Obama Pastor: Happy Easter Unless You’re A Conservative Christian

President Obama has gone from Jeremiah Wright to Luis Leon.

Obama’s current pastor, Luis Leon, delivered a controversial and not very Christian sermon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in DC on Easter Sunday.

Leon isn’t a fan of  “the good old days” and believes Conservative Christians want to go back to a time when various groups were treated badly:

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling people back…for Blacks to be back in the back of the bus, for women to be back in the kitchen, for gays to be in the closet and for immigrants to be on their side of the border.”

“What you and I understand,” Leon said, “is that when Jesus says, ‘You can’t hang onto me,’ he says, ‘You know it’s not about the past, it’s not about the before, it’s not about the way things were, but about the way things can be in the now.'”

Hello?!? The Democrats were the ones making blacks sit in the back of the bus. The KKK were Democrats!

I’m not a member of the religious right but I can’t think of one person on the religious right who has said anything like this unless Pastor Leon is talking about insane extremists. Nothing like lumping everyone on the right together!

I have not heard one Christian say gays should go back in the closet.

No one wants to keep immigrants out. We DO want to keep our borders closed because we are a country. Countries have borders.

Who wants women back in the kitchen? Who?

Why is the President of the United States tolerating this? In the least, he could have commented about unity afterwards.

This particular church is left-wing in case you didn’t notice.

Happy Easter to you too Luis. He’s a low-information pastor.
