Obama Recognizes Columbus Day by Blaming the White Man

After praising Columbus and acknowledging the sacrifices of the Europeans who settled in the United States, Obama blamed Europeans for bringing disease and violence to Native Americans as if Native Americns didn’t engage in violence before the Europeans came. I guess he never saw Apocalypto.

In deference to the leftists in the country who want to change the holiday into an Indigenous Peoples’ Day, he said this in his proclamation:

“Previously unseen disease, devastation and violence were introduced to their lives — and as we pay tribute to the ways in which Columbus pursued ambitious goals — we also recognize the suffering inflicted upon Native Americans and we recommit to strengthening tribal sovereignty and maintaining our strong ties,” reads the president’s Columbus Day proclamation.

“Though these early travels expanded the realm of European exploration, to many they also marked a time that forever changed the world for the indigenous peoples of North America.”

They knew all about violence and inflicted plenty of their own before the white man came (go to the end):

They were warriors and hunters not to be provoked by outsiders, because they fled from evil in South America. Evil was their enemy. The Creator was their guide. Now form your own opinion. The white man came to take away from them all that was given by the Creator. To them it was another form of evil. They either had to flee again or stand and fight against the white man to keep what was theirs. What happens today when people have to leave their land because companies want to come in and claim their land for mineral rights? Sometimes they fold, but sometimes they stand up and fight against corporations.
