The communist rag, The Nation, which supports Hilary by the way, begins their story on apologizing to the Japanese in this way:

Here we are, 70 years after the nuclear obliteration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and I’m wondering if we’ve come even one step closer to a moral reckoning with our status as the world’s only country to use atomic weapons to slaughter human beings. Will an American president ever offer a formal apology? Will our country ever regret the dropping of “Little Boy” and “Fat Man,” those two bombs that burned hotter than the sun?

On Thursday, Terumi Tanaka, Secretary General of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations and a survivor of the Nagasaki explosion, had a message for Obama. He told reporters, “I urge him to apologize to those who died, bereaved families and parents who lost their children.

The guilty parties were Japan and its leaders, especially Emperor Hirohito who wanted to fight until every last man was dead and who would have sacrificed countless thousands of ours. They also wanted better terms of surrender. Could another avenue have been taken? We will never know but we do know this was the only option that would have meant no more loss of life though the Japanese did kill one 20-year old pilot after the unofficial surrender.

The Japanese are taught in school that they would have surrendered without the bomb. Anyone who served in that war in that theater whom I have spoken to said it’s not true. They were Kamikazes who fought to the death. Pride came first.

A group representing Japanese survivors of U.S. atomic bombings urged President Barack Obama to hear their stories and apologize when he visits Hiroshima next week, according to Japan Today.

Toshiki Fujimori, the group’s assistant secretary general and survivor of the Hiroshima blast, said, “Many atomic bomb victims think it’s not all right if (Obama) doesn’t apologize. Atomic bomb victims are demanding that it be made clear that the dropping of atomic bombs was inhumane and breaches international law, and that will be confirmed by his apology.”

Can you see the lawyers lining up to cash in?

Obama will be in Japan for a G7 summit and will go looking for controversy as he visits Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park on May 27. He won’t apologize, US officials have announced but his very presence is an inherent apology and will he not denigrate us as he always does?

Apologizing to Japan would be equivalent to apologizing to your assailant. Japan should beg us for forgiveness for dragging us into the most destructive war in our history.

It is insensitive, insulting and ignorant to assume we owe them an apology when we lost four years and 100,000 of our citizens’ lives, crippled another 250,000, and disrupted and destroyed so many families at home because of an outlaw nation that was as savage and as barbaric as ISIS is today. They were fanatical and sadistic, beheading and torturing our soldiers, starving them to death.

They were in one way or another responsible for more than fifteen million innocent civilian deaths on a scale that surpassed Nazi Germany.

Japan viciously invaded its peaceful neighbors without declarations of war murdering and raping along the way.

We should apologize for a war we didn’t want that they forced us into?

The only reasons the US dropped those bombs were to save American lives and end the war. The leftists and the apologists are trying to rewrite history but those are the reasons.

We can’t know how many lives were saved but some estimates of Japanese lives saved run at about four million. The Japanese estimate that 10 million of their citizens would have been killed in an invasion.

Harry Truman is a hero and the reprehensible Emperor Hirohito should be vilified throughout history. The left wants you to believe our actions were indefensible but the only things indefensible were the actions of the brutal Japanese.

What next? Will the Jews have to apologize to Germany?

If Obama apologizes and his popularity continues to rise, it will be a good sign that our country is lost.

  1. What about the American that was killed in bombing at pearl harbor . If they wouldn’t have started we would not finish it

  2. It is clear the Japanese have a distorted view of history. I am curious how they teach the attack on Pearl Harbor in school.

  3. 3,000 killed in Pearl Harbor. The book “Unjust Enrichment” has in it a memo telling heads of prisoner of war camps in Japan/Korea to make sure all prisoners die. Leave no prisoners alive. The Japanese were using them pows as slaves and there are even copies of orders for more soldier slaves in the book. The Japanese government said they had no record of our prisoners, but then sent them Christmas cards that they got when they got home wishing their families well as a threat to keep quiet about their treatment. Demand an apology? Perhaps someone wants to drag up old hate. Maybe we need to be diverted from being angry at a muslim genocide right now.

    • My husbands 100 year old father is a Pearl Harbor survivor, and his father’s brother is 97 years old and was a Japanese POW. These two men lived with the actions of the Japanese and still live with their actions in the memories they can’t shake. Their thoughts go back 80 years . Yes many Japanese lives were destroyed and if they want an apology perhaps the Japanesse country should accept responsibility and apologize to their own people.
