Pastor Resigns After Trashing His Ancestor Robert E. Lee to an MTV Audience

A descendent of Confederate Army General Robert E. Lee resigned as pastor of his church this week after an appearance on MTV during which he bashed his ancestor, Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Pastor Robert Lee IV is the four times great nephew of the General.

He dissed his distant uncle and anyone who respects him, describing him as an “an idol of white supremacy, racism, and hate.”

“As a pastor, it is my moral duty to speak out against racism, America’s original sin,” he said. “Today, I call on all of us with privilege and power to answer God’s call to confront racism and white supremacy head-on. We can find inspiration in the Black Lives Matter movement, the women who marched in the Women’s March in January, and, especially, Heather Heyer, who died fighting for her beliefs.”

The original sin argument is idiotic.

That didn’t sit well with everyone in his congregation and he felt compelled to resign:

My presence at the church as a descendent of Robert E. Lee and an outspoken opponent of White Supremacy had already attracted attention, but with my appearance on MTV the media’s focus on my church reached an all time high. A faction of church members were concerned about my speech and that I lifted up Black Lives Matter movement, the Women’ s March, and Heather Heyer as examples of racial justice work.

I want to stress that there were many in the congregation who supported my right to free speech, yet were uncomfortable with the attention the church was receiving. The church’s reaction was deeply hurtful to me.

After  promoting the hate group Black Lives Matter, he tweeted his self-righteous reactions.

Meanwhile, history is being erased and the hardcore left hopes to put up statues of Prince, leftist heroes, and nearly-nude African women in place of the statues they have targeted.

A CNN commenter wants all the statues down. She wants George Washington down, Jefferson, all of them, erasing our Founding.

Attorney Angela Rye, a radical left-wing advocate and regular CNN commentator, said that because America’s Founding Fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners their statues had to “come down,” and she added that America is now “close to repeating” the slavery and persecution of blacks of the 18th and 19th centuries.

That is truly insane.

Dallas just voted to immediately remove the statue of Robert E. Lee from Robert E. Lee Park. A temporary restraining order has been issued.

The National Cathedral is removing these stained glass windows because they say they honor Confederates.

The Communist mayor of New York Bill De Blasio wants to get rid of the statues of Christopher Columbus. He said in an interview with the New York Post, “We’re trying to unpack 400 years of American history here. This is complicated stuff. But you know, it’s a lot better to be talking about it and trying to work through it than ignoring it because I think for a lot of people in this city and in this country, they feel that their history has been ignored or affronts to their history have been tolerated.”

In an interview with CBS, De Blasio showed more support for taking down the statue. He wrote the following in a tweet, “In the wake of Charlottesville, NYC will be conducting a 90-day review of all symbols of hate on city property.” Apparently Columbus is a symbol of hate.

Screw the pastor! I hope he never finds another job in a pulpit. Screw De Blasio! Screw all people that think that removing statues will reduce racial strife. All it does is temporarily pacify the snowflakes that cannot deal with “offensive” surroundings. They will soon find other things that horrify them and will insist that they too be removed.

I could just as easily complain that the existence of BLM, Planned Parenthood, SPLC, NAACP, Democrats in general, and many other things offend me.

The pastor is quite young and ignorant. I’d research my ancestor before making such a reckless statement.

Statues being removed, history being destroyed, is being done on the “basis” that there were imperfect things which happened in the past. Using that “basis”, everything must be destroyed. Lack of perfection is never an argument for anything. The gullible, ignorant, corrupted are vulnerable to that argument.
