Calling it “truth”, Nancy Pelosi said the ACA resulted from the “most transparent drafting processes in recent memory.” Maybe HER memory but certainly no one else’s. The ACA was written in secret by Democrats, promoted through extortion with not one Republican vote.

Republicans were literally locked out of all discussions.
As reported by the Associated Press, Congressional Quarterly, USA Today, the Washington Post, and, not insignificantly, Peter Roff with U.S. News & World Report, House and Senate Democrats said they would only negotiate the legislation in private, far away from the prying eyes of Capitol Hill Republicans and far away from prying cameras.
In a December 30 2010 letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Minority Leader John Boehner, C-SPAN Chairman and CEO Brian Lamb formally requested that congressional leaders open up the healthcare negotiations to the media. They weren’t.
There is a lot more evidence but none better than Pelosi’s own words.
