According to numerous articles in the media, “Pope Francis has criticized the “backwardness” of some conservatives in the United States Catholic Church, saying they have replaced faith with political ideology.”
It seems that’s more attributable to progressives.
The pontiff made the remarks in early August during a private meeting in Lisbon while meeting with members of a Jesuit religious order. The Jesuits are left-wing. They were published on Monday by La Civilta Cattolica, a Jesuit journal vetted by the secretariat of state of the Vatican.
“Doing this, you lose the true tradition, and you turn to ideologies to have support. In other words, ideologies replace faith,” he said.
“The vision of the doctrine of the church as a monolith is wrong,” he added. “When you go backward, you make something closed off, disconnected from the roots of the church,” which then has devastating effects on morality.
“I want to remind these people that backwardness is useless, and they must understand that there’s a correct evolution in the understanding of questions of faith and morals.” The Pope went on to say that some pontiffs had been tolerant of slavery, but “things are different today.”

Pope Francis sides with the most left-wing of the Progressives as he took the side of the hard-left and caused more division in the church.
Conservative Catholics abide by the teachings of the Church and are pro-life. That’s less so with Progressives.
Francis made the comments in a private meeting with Portuguese members of his Jesuit religious order while visiting Lisbon on Aug. 5; the Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica, which is vetted by the Vatican secretariat of state, published a transcript of the encounter Monday.
The open borders Pope and his fellow Jesuits are pushing illegal immigration by unvetted masses into the US to destroy the US as we know it. What he says should be viewed in that light. I say that as a conservative Catholic.
Francis has previously acknowledged the criticism directed at him from some U.S. conservatives, once quipping that it was an “honor” to be attacked by Americans.

So so so very sad. I have felt the disruptive presence of left wing values in more than one parish. They trample on the “consistency” that has held us and our families together for generations. Now, if you’re conservative, one gets the feeling that they’d prefer for you to just move on. I moved here 20 some years ago. I have tried to register with the local parish. No one is in the office when I go, they don’t return phone calls and I have even emailed. I’ve wanted to register and even talked to the priest about it, but it never goes any further. After so many years of indifference, I have offered my service and gifts to another church. While I still see myself as Catholic, it seems the only way I can serve in this area is through another church. They don’t want us “old ways” people and are not shy about rejecting us on any level. It’s just sad. And ya know what? I tithe!
Q- If the current pope took Biden’s job
and Biden took the pope job
what would be the net effect ?
A- No change
Pope Francis is misguided in his beliefs. That does not make him anything other than mistaken. Pray that God may grant him the grace to see the follies of his ways. Understand that when he speaks on policy issues, he is speaking for himself and not the Church as an institution. The Catholic Church has approximately 1.3 billion followers in the world, and I suspect there are 1.3 billion views on what Pope Francis thinks and says about issues like immigration and conservativism depending on which side of the border you are standing. And before someone replies that when the Pope speaks he is viewed as infallible by Catholics (ex Cathedra), that is not how it works. That has only been pronounced once in 1950 and it is still being defined. The Pope can be wrong on issues because he is a man, and like many other men (and women) they comment on things that they do not fully understand.
This is what you get when you install a pope who worships Marx instead of God.
Well, he’s not the first false pope, and probably won’t be the last.
