The hardcore leftist leadership in D.C. are not protecting the residents. As a result, President Trump has threatened to take over the district and remove Mayor Bowser if she doesn’t get her act together.
It’s good business to not let your residents have their cars stolen or get killed, and she has never gotten the concept.
He should do it only because our capital is government property. The US taxpayer owns it and our capital should show the world we can take care of it.

from what I have read the gilded filigree around the top of the oval was originally gilded as was the presidential seal in the center of the ceiling, painted over from previous administrations ( as they are allowed to do). so actually Trump just restored the gilding.
The constitution created DC as the seat of government and placed it under congressional control. Why does DC elect a mayor, rather than being governed by a presidentially or congressionally appointed administrator?

Bowser has for years allowed riots and other violence. In 2017 she let rioters riot while the police stood down. That area is under federal jurisdiction. The feds have to take tough action to fix a tough problem.
