On Thursday, the NY Times posted an article on why the President can’t pardon Sheriff Arpaio. CBS News said he was warned not to do it, and on Friday he did it. The President pardoned the persecuted sheriff.
“Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration,” the White House said in a statement stressing Arpaio’s public service.
“Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of admirable service to our Nation, he is worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon,” the statement added.
The sheriff was used by the Obama-Holder administration as an example of what happens to those who try to control illegal immigration.
Arpaio had been found guilty in a Justice Department investigation of racially profiling Latinos. He was convicted July 31 of criminal contempt for disobeying a leftist federal judge’s order on detaining individuals suspected of being in the U.S. illegally.
As President Trump said at the Phoenix rally on Tuesday, he was convicted for doing his job.
Social media leftists are ripping into the President and the sheriff. The nasty left hoped to see this 85-year old man in prison for following federal law and not the contrived law of Barack Obama which actually defied federal law.

Some are even saying it’s a terrible thing to do while a dangerous hurricane is heading for Texas as if they would approve of any time.
