In an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace, Reince Priebus acknowledged that Trump “accepts the fact that this particular case was entities in Russia.” The left is going wild with this, claiming Trump finally gets it but is blaming the DNC for it,not Russia.

Note that Priebus said he “thinks” Trump agrees which gives Trump some wiggle room.

It Was the Russians

“I think he accepts the findings, Chris,” Priebus said of Trump. “But here’s the thing that everyone needs to understand. When this whole thing started, it started from the Russians 50 years ago. In other words, this is something that’s been going on in our elections for many, many years. The Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians — it happens, every election period.”

Priebus said that Trump was “not denying that entities in Russia were behind this particular hacking campaign.”

“The primary actor is the foreign entity that’s perpetrating the crime to begin with, I’m not denying it,” Priebus said.

When asked to specify who the foreign actor was, Priebus responded bluntly.

“Russia,” he said.

In other words, everyone hacks everyone all the time and they have been doing it for years.

Why Was Intelligence In Quotes

Priebus was asked why Trump tweeted about the intelligence briefing with the word ‘intelligence’ in quotes.

“The reason he put it in quotes is that the “intelligence” briefing we were attempting to have was going to be on Tuesday. It turns out, that the report, which apparently was supposed to be done that created the Obama reaction, wasn’t going to be done until Wednesday, and therefore, the intelligence briefing in quotes that we were supposed to have on Tuesday was then, we were informed, was going to be done on Friday.

So, here we are having to react to these Russian sanctions stories with the media and all of you, folks, you — and you’re a good one, Chris. We were supposed to be reacting to something that we had no ability to get a briefing on because the actual report wasn’t done until Wednesday. It’s a frustrating situation and that’s what the president-elect was referring.”

Will Trump Respond?

Chris Wallace asked Priebus if Trump’s attitude was reflective of him not being willing to react to Russian hacking. Reince Priebus said “there’s nothing wrong with trying to have a good relationship with Russia and other countries…”

“He very well, he’s going to order the intelligence community to make recommendations,” the Trump spokesperson said, “and whatever those recommendations are will be discussed and actions may be taken, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying to have a good relationship with Russia and other countries around the world. And that’s what the president is saying, that he is going to have good relationships around the world that will put America first, bring jobs back and make a safer across the globe. That’s what he wants to do and I think that’s what he will do.”

It was only eight years ago that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton spoke highly of the Russians during the failed reset. It’s okay for them to try but not Donald Trump.
