Shocker! Lisa Murkowski’s Not Comfortable as a Republican

With four years to go on her term, Sen. Lisa Murkowski stated the opposite. She doesn’t feel comfortable as a Republican. “I’m not attached to a label, I’d rather be that ‘no label.’ I’d rather be that person that is just known for trying to do right by the state and the people that I serve, regardless of party, and I’m totally good and comfortable with that,” Murkowski said during a discussion hosted by the centrist group No Labels at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington.”

Later on during the discussion, Murkowski clarified that she is “still a Republican” and has “never shed my party label.”

“We’ve got a system in the Senate where there are two sides of the aisle, and I have to sit on one side, or I have to sit on the other,” she added.

“I don’t think I’ve made any secret of the fact that I’m more of a Ronald Reagan Republican than I am a Trump Republican,” she said Thursday. “And someone said, ‘Well, you aren’t really a Republican at all.’ And I said, ‘You can call me whatever you want to call me.’”

Democrats are counting on Murkowski and Susan Collins to stop most of Donald Trump’s nominees and agenda.

As we all should be, unless we are willing to be active in a party and help make it what it should be. I am a voting US citizen living in Australia for work. I think of myself as an independent American. When I lived in Illinois I was active in the Republican party and worked hard to work a precinct with a regular newsletter to ALL residents, and getting ALL registered and to the polls.

Hello Mr Prange. Australia has been in my bucket for a long time as a destination. Alas, not likely to be.
I live and work in Illinois, and at sixty-seven yo, I still give the dollar value by earning it.

It’s getting really sickening when these “Republicans” keep invoking Reagan to give “cover” for their non-Republican ideology. These people are the same type that were against Reagan in his day. They used to be called “Rockefeller Republicans” and hated Conservatism.

‘Republican’ Nelson Rockefeller began the economic destruction of NYS. Right now, the state is on life support. He was one of the first of the RINO phonies, and showed the rest of them how it was done.

In england, politicians can be kicked out of a party. This idiot needs to be kicked out of the republican party.

The Murk never has been a republican, but a deceptive RINO always. She was instrumental in getting ranked choice voting in AK which effectively destroyed the GOP, and kept her in the senate with democrat votes. McConnell has used her to torpedo the republican agenda. Both are reptiles who should be kicked out.
