Please read this article on Frontpage Magazine titled GAO REVELATIONS: OUR OPEN DOOR FOR TERRORISTS. I’ll summarize but won’t do it justice.
People need to understand how terrorists can freely enter our country.
Most terrorists enter the US through US ports of entry. Visas are an important component of border security. Aliens who can’t get a visa are kept as far from our borders as possible.
The following is from the “Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States” and it shows the ties between visas and border security.
“It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country. Yet prior to September 11, while there were efforts to enhance border security, no agency of the U.S. government thought of border security as a tool in the counterterrorism arsenal. Indeed, even after 19 hijackers demonstrated the relative ease of obtaining a U.S. visa and gaining admission into the United States, border security still is not considered a cornerstone of national security policy. We believe, for reasons we discuss in the following pages, that it must be made one.”
Then, remarkably, along came the Visa Waiver Program. On September 11, 2001 citizens of 26 countries were able to enter the United States under the auspices of the Visa Waiver Program. It should have been disbanded but wasn’t.
The White House put this out today: “FACT SHEET: Visa Waiver Program Enhancements.” This document announces that it is enhancing the waiver program! They will ask a few additional questions – that’s it.
Does the administration expect terrorists to provide legitimate information and give information about the training that they received in bomb-making, beheading and hijacking? Maybe they are expecting the terrorists to provide copies of their transcripts to show how well they did in their training.
Then there is the illegal immigration. We know that Mexicans are smuggling people from terror nations into the US.
The following is a photo of Mexicans smuggling scouts on the south side of the border, east of San Diego. This area actually has a border wall, but the Border Patrol does not have a persistent presence. Only two agents were seen on the border road in a 24 hour period. Neither agent was equipped with thermal surveillance gear. The smuggling scouts were checking to see if the route across the border was clear for a group. Naturally, it was.
