The Nightmare of Rebuilding in California After the Fires

California is heavily regulated, and housing is no exception. People hurt by nature in the past have often had to wait years to rebuild. Some people are worried that California, a WEF-friendly state, will try to use this as an opportunity to build those 15-minute cities with hi-rises.

If nothing else, it won’t be easy to rebuild unless the wealthy homeowners can do something about the regulations.

The city permit offices and coastal commission commissars are tough to deal with. They’re radicals.

This X poster below said he hears credible reports that Gavin Newsom and developers are discussing exactly that in Pacific Palisades from R1 to R3.

Gavin Newsom said this is not true.

Newsom has been pro-high-density housing even though people are generally happier when they live in single-family homes and have their own little piece of land.

Changing zoning is a big issue for the WEF (World Economic Forum Social Engineers) and the UN. They don’t want people to have the American Dream.

That doesn’t mean Newsom will go against his biggest voters and try to rezone. He says he isn’t doing that.

Tax Laws

California has just passed new tax laws; if your home burns down and you don’t rebuild within two years, a heavy lift in California, you lose your tax basis. Your property taxes skyrocket to the new values of the property.

Real Estate Gal:

“Think about a home that was purchased many years ago for $5 million. Let’s say they were paying $65,000 a year in property taxes. Property goes up a lot over time, especially in these areas. Maybe the value today is $30 million. They go to rebuild it. If it was not, if they couldn’t transfer the tax basis, you’re looking at like $400,000 a year that they would have to pay.”

“In 2020, California voters approved a bill that basically said that if your house burns down in a fire, you can transfer the tax basis of that property to something that you buy or something that you build. But you only have two years to do it.”

I’m 100% Native American. I was born here, my parents were born here, their parents were born here, etc, etc, etc, etc.

If only certain ‘Native Americans’ deserve special treatment and taxpayer provided benefits, then EVERYONE deserves it, bc EVERYONE has had their land taken from ‘their people’ at some point.

Exactly. They will not rebuild. The California Coastal Commission will see to that once the land is bare. The California EPA will find a bug, lizard, or small mammal to protect because they are more important the lowly human being. The displaced people will have to move to Vegas like the Hawaiians. That’s the globalist way.

California is the least business friendly territory in the western hemisphere. If they reduced their insane over regulations down to a minimum, the costs and timeframe for building anything would be reduced by at least 1/3.

CA politicians use the blessings of Silicon Valley to establish a socialist hellscape for its residents. Rich fools pay for it and the dregs of society support it, in exchange for just enough handouts to live comfortably while doing the bare minimum. CA handouts act as a beacon for the dregs of the world.

The working class are the suckers who keep everything running in exchange for a minimally bigger piece of the pie than the drug addict, migrant or welfare mom- with absolutely no chance of actually getting ahead in life. This is what the Democrats have to offer and ALL the global elites believe we deserve. If they had it there way, every American would be forced to choose between joining their serf state or joining the queue for depopulation.

No liberty, no rights, no freedom, no private property, no middle class, no class movement whatsoever- EXACTLY as it was in England when the original colonists fled to America.

As for reconstruction, I suspect the well heeled and well connected will get their permits approved in a timely manner and the rest will be subjected to the Maui treatment- sell to us at rock bottom prices or sit on your vacant lot until they move to seize it from you.

Go read up on all of the non-profits and other housing organizations which take federal and state money to build. They are heavily subsidized for up to 5 years. Then they turn around and begin charging full rental rates. We are talking billions in housing grants to these mysterious shell companies with no history!
