This Is What’s Wrong With ‘American Sniper’ and ‘Snipers’ in General – It’s Now What You Think

by A Grateful American

Having once been a flaming liberal myself, I can better see what’s wrong with snipers and, consequently, the movie American Sniper, than an ordinary conservative can see. My outstanding credentials include having voted for Jimmy Carter twice! Clearly, the problem is that we are not using the proper terminology to describe snipers and we are setting them up for rebuke.

Words have meaning!

Just as we don’t have terror attacks and people who look and act like terrorists are not terrorists, snipers really shouldn’t be called snipers.

A more fitting title would be a Covert Defensive Strategic Firearm Technician – CDSFT. Thus, the movie would have been called American CDSFT. No one would have known what anyone was talking about and there would have been no controversy today.

Wouldn’t Michael Moore have sounded ridiculous railing against CDSFTs?

CDSFT is a more accurate term. A sniper is a highly trained marksman who works alone but a CDSFT is a highly trained marksman who acts alone with one important difference – no one will have a clue as to what a CDSFT is, making said CDSFT impervious to insults.

Likewise, the military, much demonized by the far-left, might be called Kinetic Strategists who supervise kinetic military actions. The connotation is better and it can be used to manipulate the masses more effectively.

Republicans could change their name to Democrats because that’s what many of them are anyway. We have the Democratic Socialist Party and the Democratic Party. We just haven’t gotten around to using the proper terminology yet.

We could do this all day.

We could call the Tea Party action-oriented parade organizers or we could call them terrorists. Terrorists works too as long as we don’t get crazy and call the Afghan Taliban terrorists.

For the common good and for social justice’s sake, we Conservatives need to spread the BS around better than we do. We also need to call everyone racists.

Just as a footnote, when I was a flaming liberal, I respected our military. My father was a sniper in WWII. My husband was a marksman in Vietnam. Two of my sons were in the Marines and they too were good with weaponry. God bless snipers. God bless Chris Kyle and his family. God bless our Armed Forces.

It is one of the most honorable professions in the world. Men and women who are willing to lay down their lives for others and who sacrifice so much are the greatest among us. They are fighters for freedom. Respect for the military should be bipartisan. It once was.
