Truck Drives Into a Crowd on a Busy Street in Stockholm

Mall in Stockholm where the attack occurred.

A truck drove into crowds in a busy street in Stockholm. Fatalities have been reported. The vehicle drove into crowds on Drottninggatan (Queen Street) – one of the city’s major pedestrian streets, just before 3pm local time, before crashing into Åhlens Mall.

At least three people are believed to have been killed, according to a Sveriges Radio reporter at the scene. A number of people were taken from the scene by ambulance according to TT.

An eyewitness at the scene told the TT news agency that medical staff were treating injured people on the street at the Drottninggatan/Kungsgatan intersection. “I also saw people with blankets over them,” he said. “The whole body was covered.”

“I saw hundreds of people run, they ran for their lives,” Anna, who witnessed the incident said. “I turned and ran as well.”

Jan Granroth was inside a shoe store on Drottninggatan when he heard people starting to scream.

Other witnesses described scenes of panic when the truck started driving through the crowd.

Dimitris said: “I was on the main street when a big truck came out of nowhere.

“It got out of control, I saw at least two people being run over.”

Perhaps the former Prime Minister of Sweden was wrong and President Trump is right.
