President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in an interview broadcast on Sunday that Ukraine had received sophisticated air defense systems from the United States. He was very thankful.
It was the first acknowledgment that Ukraine had received the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), long sought by Kyiv and whose shipment was approved by Washington late last month.
“We absolutely need the United States to show leadership and give Ukraine the air defense systems. I want to thank President (Joe) Biden for a positive decision that has been already made,” Zelenskiy said, according to an English-language transcript of the interview.
“But believe me, it’s not nearly enough to cover the civilian infrastructure, schools, hospitals, universities, homes of Ukrainians.”
Russians will see air-defense as an escalation.
Zelenskiy also thanked the United States for HIMARS and other multiple rocket-launching systems enabling Ukraine to advance against Russian occupying forces.
Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of massacres.
On Monday, a Canadian journalist reported Ukraine slaughtered 16 civilians, including two children, with 155mm NATO shells, according to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin. The projectiles hit two adjacent neighborhoods, decimating residential and commercial areas – including a market that had previously suffered fatal attacks.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell told the BBC on Saturday that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin could use nuclear weapons if Moscow’s forces are “pushed into a corner.” Borrell called for a peace deal.
The conflict in Ukraine has reached a “dangerous moment,” the diplomat told the British broadcaster. “It’s a dangerous moment because the Russian army has been pushed into a corner, and Putin’s reaction – threatening using nuclear arms – it’s very bad.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday said Russian President Vladimir Putin might not be bluffing in his latest threats to use nuclear weapons.
“Look, maybe yesterday it was bluff,” Zelensky said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” during an interview with moderator Margaret Brennan.
“Now, it could be a reality,” Zelensky continued. “Let’s look, what is a contemporary use of nuclear weapons or nuclear blackmail? He targeted and occupied our nuclear power plant and the city of Enerhodar.”
Zelenskiy has pushed for a world war for months. Now he has air-defense systems. How will this escalate the war?
The Russians said they would use nuclear weapons if NATO did. They said it in response to what they see as NATO aggression.

The Sentinel is definitely not a Putin puppet, and we find the invasion horrible, but global war is a worse idea. We have weak leaders and no money. Aside from that, nuclear war is a loser for everyone.
Every escalation, including air-defense, is a concern. Russians respond with escalation.
Ukraine has 40 million people, and Russia has 145 million, with more nukes than anyone on the planet. In the end, how can Ukraine win? Hopefully, we’re wrong. We think the West is destroying Ukraine. Nothing the West has done has stopped Russia. Russia’s economy is not collapsing despite what you might have heard.
If the West wants to create hyperinflation, global war, and destroy sovereignty, they are doing a great job. We are suicidal and have dummkopf ideologues in charge.

Another Pro-Russia writer boosting Putin the Dictator. Ukraine was invaded, they didn’t attack Russia, Russia attacked them and Putin is the Nazi. That’s how it is, and lies don’t change reality or facts.
Obviously you are unaware of facts on the ground. Kiev had amassed huge forces in the Grey Zone with well dug-in positions against the Donbass area before Feb. 24th. In the week prior, Ukraine had been shelling those areas with thousands of rocket and mortar attacks. This was confirmed by OSCE. It was this event, along with Zelensky making threats of acquiring nuclear weapons and on numerous occasions threats of wiping out Russia that Putin took notice.
After the Maidan coup of 2014 it was Poroshenko, with other politicians, and the media who called for the ethnic cleansing of Russian speakers in the Donbass area. During that time they shelled civilian apartments, hospitals and schools. That went on for eight years. For years those ethnic Russians begged Russia to help and Putin did very little.
Of course people in the West weren’t informed when Kiev sent Jets in Lugansk and fired missiles into the public square killing many. Or, when ethnic Russians were attacked in Odessa and scores were burned alive when taking refuge in an administration building. All this because the US backed Maidan coup, led by Victorial Nuland with Pyatt, and Lindsey Graham with McCain, gave rise to several neo-Nazi movements such as the Azov battalion, Aidar and Right Sector. Graham and McCain stood with those neo-Nazis telling them how much US support they would get. Previously they were a small fringe group but soon gained widespread support and masses of people began torch marches with blood and soil flags. Ukraine went downhill from there on.
The race-cleansing race-hating Joe Biden “giving” defense to fellow race-cleanser Zelensky of the nazi race-cleansing battalions—but no defense for the US. Much of Biden’s so-called “generosity” is in league with global criminal orgs and his attempt to silence/bribe witnesses to his and vulgar family’s long and corrupt business dealings infested with greed in that nation and others. Fact is these types and their associates carry their judgements and are bearers of their own ends.

Putin knows good and well he has lost the war. The only reason to treaten to use nukes, is because you know you are doomed. Nuclear weapon are just that, Dooms day weapons.
The funny thing, is how are these western weapons even able to get to Ukraine… That in itself shows just how out of touch the Russian so called military is… Putin knows good and well what will happen should he cross that line. The End, Period…
Putin will lose the war if he uses a nuke. His own staff may kill him if he tries to issue the command… they have families too. If he does… NATO and the US will destroy his military in Ukraine and shoot down any missile including his hypersonic junk. They will also destroy the entire Black Sea fleet including subs.
Yeah right. Just try and shoot down a hypersonic missile. Why didn’t the West shoot down the missiles that hit Western Ukraine and destroyed the NATO operation base.
After “Maidan” and the festering sore that is the Donbass, that was beseiged by the CIA appointed regime…the ongoing slaughter, over 8 years, was ‘escalated’ by the powers that be to “PUSH” Russia into their actions, were delibarate…biden and his handlers “NEED” a hot war, and the continued massive collusion of the sold out “media” to complete their ‘designs’ on the USA…
Donbass is clearly sovereign territory of Ukraine, Sparkie or is it Ivan??? Russia is The Invader… Funny thing about a free press, it just doesn’t float well… it’s called Facts.
This is precisely the same scenario that the US and NATO did with Kosovo and afterwards legitimized the action. So don’t complain about Russia following the US’s “Rules based International Order”.
