ISIS “will probably attempt to conduct additional attacks in Europe, and attempt to direct attacks on the U.S. homeland in 2016,” Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, testified on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
ISIS has also used a chemical agent that is odorless, colorless, tasteless and have been experimenting on the Kurds. They are trying to develop biological agents they can easily transport and send over the Internet.
The US is at best reactionary and ISIS believes there is nothing to stop them.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper also testified at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing and said that ISIS is in about 40 countries. There are more safe havens for terrorists “than at any time in history.”, Clapper warned.
ISIS is the number one threat, Clapper said, and they are using the refugees from Iraq and Syria to hide.
That is what they exactly said they would do.
Clapper said ISIS was “taking advantage of the torrent of migrants to insert operatives into that flow,” adding that they were “pretty skilled at phony passports so they can travel ostensibly as legitimate travelers.”
Fortunately, the immigration of Syrians to the United States is moving slowly so far. It would be nice if our officials also closed the borders and tracked visa overstays.
Clapper also said that ISIS has used chemical weapons.
Oh, but don’t worry, I’m sure we have “robust” vetting.
