Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald has apologized for telling a homeless veteran he was in the special forces when he wasn’t. However, he jumped out of planes in the service of his country. Maybe he deserves a pass.

During a CBS News report last month on homeless veterans, McDonald told a homeless veteran he was in the special forces only HuffPo found out he wasn’t.

His apology:

While I was in Los Angeles, engaging a homeless individual to determine his Veteran status, I asked the man where he had served in the military. He responded that he had served in special forces. I incorrectly stated that I had been in special forces. That was inaccurate and I apologize to anyone that was offended by my misstatement.

It isn’t that bad really. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. That’s not exactly regular army either.

The next two are serious liars.

Another famous Democrat, Senator Blumenthal, lied about serving in Vietnam but he was unaware of his misspoken words when they were spoken according to him. He also left the articles repeating his lie uncorrected:
