Senator John McCain betrayed his party and the people who voted for him on his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare. He told the Democrats beforehand but not the Majority Leader or most Republicans that he was planning to vote against the bill.

He was seen hugging Schumer and Feinstein and laughing it up with Democrats after the vote. Several Democrats are alleged to have heard him say, “Let’s see Donald make America great again.”

Bill O’Reilly told Glenn Beck Friday that McCain might have done it out of revenge, to get even with Trump for attacking his service to the country. Beck believes McCain hates the right-wing more than he hates Trump, suggesting another motive.

The dramatic moments before and after he betrayed the Republicans and his country

“Watch the show,” the Arizona senator told the media when he first entered the senate chamber.

When he arrived, he held a brief conversation with Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer ( D-N.Y.), an exchange that left Schumer smiling, the Washington Post reported.

Schumer knew what was about to happen.

“I knew it when he walked on the floor,” Schumer later recounted, explaining that McCain had already called to share his plans.

But few, if any, of his Republican colleagues knew what was going to happen, WaPo reported.

McCain winked when Murkowski voted against the bill,  and gave her a thumbs-down.

Watch the video as the self-important John McCain makes a dramatic entrance into the Senate chamber to vote against the “skinny bill”. He walked to the center of the room to grandstand, paused, held out his hand dramatically to get attention, and gave the thumbs down like a pompous fool. Senator Bernie Sanders appeared to know what was about to happen.

Several people gasped when he voted. Others applauded. Reporters dashed out to report the news.

The vote concluded, and the results were announced — the bill was voted down, 51 to 49.

McConnell, humiliated by the results according to WaPo, stood to address his colleagues. The color of his face now matched the pink in his necktie, WaPo gloated.

“This is clearly a disappointing moment,” he said.

At 1:10 a.m., McCain crossed the Senate Chamber to talk to Schumer, Klobuchar and other Democrats, including Sens. Richard J. Durbin (Ill.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.). As he approached, McCain told them he worried that reporters watching from the gallery above could read his lips. When he realized that the press was indeed watching, he looked up at the ceiling and shouted, “No!” as senators and reporters laughed. Then, Democrats beamed when McCain shared his news. Feinstein gave him a hug.

They all laughed together.

Watch him hug Dianne Feinstein in the next clip.

Jack Posobiec reported that as McCain laughed it up with Democrats, he said, “Let’s see Donald make America great again.”
