What Are We Doing? Homegrown Terrorism Is Spreading Throughout the U.S.

A recent report by Adam Kredo at Washington Free Beacon points to the startling fact that homegrown violent and predominantly ISIS terrorists are operating throughout the United States. From New York to California, terrorists are popping up and they have contacts with others. They are not only “lone” terrorists.

The Obama administration says the San Bernardino terrorists had not spoken to ISIS but it’s hard to believe the illegal bride was nurtured in Pakistan. This is the same administration that said Ft. Hood was workplace violence.

Recent figures published by New Jersey’s Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness indicate that about 75 of these jihadis were operating in the U.S. in 2015.

Most were providing material support to terror organizations and 21% were planning attacks in the U.S.

Then there was the 10% who carried out successful terror attacks in California, New York, Tennessee, and Massachusetts. The largest number of these terrorists are now settling in New York City where the communist mayor won’t allow any surveillance of potential terrorists and is rapidly hiring Muslims for the NYPD. Let’s hope their screening is good.

There are now more domestic terror-related arrests in the United States than at any time since the 9/11 attacks.

Experts described an unprecedented rise in the number of foiled terror plots in the United States.

The Obama administration stopped Congress from investigating the histories of about 113 foreign-born individuals caught on terror charges.

The FBI says there are almost 1000 open terror investigations at the present time. Most are ISIS and the rest are members of groups like al-Qaeda.

Officials with New Jersey’s homeland security agency reported that “In 2015, [homegrown violent extremists] demonstrated an ability to operate in New Jersey and throughout the United States while connecting with like-minded individuals online and acting independently from organized terrorist groups,” New Jersey’s homeland security agency stated in a brief of the latest terror figures. “Since late 2014, a variety of radical groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) have encouraged [extremists] to attack in their home countries.”

The Obama administration has accelerated the process to resettle thousands of unvetted Syrians and Iraqis and others from terrorist nations. The screening that used to take two years will now take three months and we can expect at least 85,000 within the next several months.

The administration (that leaves our borders open with an ISIS terror cell in Mexico within 7 miles of our border) says the intelligence reports are overblown.

Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon analyst and expert on rogue regimes, warned that the domestic terror threat will continue to grow so long as U.S. officials continue to dismiss the problem.

The administration won’t even acknowledge it’s radical Islamism.

“Home-grown extremism is accelerating and those around Obama are more interested in attacking those calling attention to the problem rather than the actual terrorists,” Rubin said.

“Globalization isn’t a one-way street. And so the problem of homegrown extremism isn’t going away,” he said. “The question now is whether the U.S. response is going to be denial or handicapped by political correctness. If there’s one lesson historians should take from the Obama administration, it is that declaring a problem non-existent or contained doesn’t make it so.”

Al Qaeda didn’t die but our national security did under Barack Obama.
