After an Israeli strike in Syria that killed a prominent Iranian general who was allegedly involved in the Oct. 7 massacre, Iran promised missile attacks in Israel from their territory.
US and media report the attacks are imminent.
Iran has told the White House that if the US defends Israel against its forthcoming retaliation for the Damascus strike, it will consider the US a viable target as well.
At first, Joe Biden threw Israel under the bus. Then, the Pentagon said they might retaliate against Iran. Now, Reuters reports that “US Secretary of State Blinken, in a call with Israeli Defense Minister Gallant, made clear that the US will stand with Israel against any threats by Iran and its proxies.”

Donald Trump killed Iran’s top general, and there was no meaningful response; they obviously see the change in management.
Sen. Marco Rubio responded with a prediction to reports out of Iran that an attack on Israel is imminent. “Iran wants to launch a large-scale attack from their own territory against #Israel. Israel will respond instantly with an even more severe counterattack inside of Iran. What happens next is the most dangerous Middle East moment since 1973.”
An alarming MEHR post, now removed, claimed Iran closed airspace over Tehran. MEHR denied the post.

Of course this is not the only reason or the main reason ,
but Iran seeing that the US military is having so much trouble recruiting ( aren t they 40,000 below target ?) that they raised the age to 70 ( for veterans ) indicates the US military is right now weak…and now is a good time to attack Israel since the USA is weaker
also Biden is draining petrol reserves,
…if WW3 breaks out imagine how vulnerable that will make the USA.
F-16s and F-22 do not run on solar and wind energy
Iran, Russia and China are looking at that and are amazed at how Biden is making the USA weaker and weaker
The out of control invasion at the south border is also a sign of serious weakness
that weakness is an invitation for them to go rogue
Which is why China is a hair trigger from invading Taiwan
