President Trump visited Alligator Alcatraz today with Gov. Ron DeSantis and found it acceptable. They only plan to keep the people in the facility for up to three days. They will bring in National Guard as judges and run the people through due process.
We have a 3.7 million person backlog and using National Guardsman as judges is brilliant. The backlog was due to corruption and incompetence.
The media wants to keep all these people here, and is working hard to portray the facility as torture. They are trying to engender sympathy so they can win in the court of public opinion against deportations.
President Trump’s style of joking, including about how to outrun an alligator, which won’t be a problem, is riling up the media. The people will be safe, and the goal is to send criminals to the outpost. Again, it’s only temporary.

President Trump said he will put menacing and vicious people in the facility.
“I looked outside and it’s not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon,” Trump said after touring the facility and getting a look at its improvised fenced-in cells. “Very soon, this facility will house some of the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet.”
In response to a reporter asking if the facility is a deterrent, Karoline Leavitt said, “When you have illegal murderers and rapists and heinous criminals in a detention facility surrounded by alligators, yes, I do think that’s a deterrent for them to try to escape.”
“There is only one road leading in, and the only way out is a one-way flight. It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain,” Leavitt told reporters.
President Trump explained the “concept” that inspired the new migrant detention camp in the Everglades they’re calling “Alligator Alcatraz.”
REPORTER: With the Alligator Alcatraz, is the idea that if the illegal immigrants try to escape, they’ll get eaten by an alligator or a snake or something?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I guess that’s the concept. This is not a nice business! I guess that’s the concept.
You know, snakes are fast, but alligators — we’re going to teach them how to run away from an alligator, OK, if they escape prison. How to run away: don’t run in a straight line, run like this. And you know what? Your chances go up about one percent, OK? Not a good thing.

Trump is joking and sending a message to illegal aliens, especially criminals – go home. All of them have an opportunity to self-deport, and don’t have to go to Alligator Alcatraz.
There is a lot of hyperbole from both sides, although with different agendas.
AA was AG Untheimer’s idea, not DeGov’s
Great use for an underused, remote facility with great ‘Eco-Fencing’. There are others planned and that’s a good thing!
I love the idea of a prison with just one way out…..out of the country.
…and he has a sense of humor.
