Happy Mother’s Day, Moms!

The early 40s were not glorious days in America.  America’s military was involved in World War II on two fronts – Europe and the Pacific.  My family – or should I say both of my families – paid a very dear price.  As it turns out, four men in my “family” were directly involved in…

VT Governor – No Income Tax Hike……Now

If you want to see what the tax plan is for the nation, just look to Vermont.  Early in his administration, President Barack Obama realized that Vermont – with its overloaded Democrat majority State government – was the perfect place to test drive his redistribution of wealth program.  Vermont also had a running start on…

Is Google’s GMail Favoring Democrats?

May 9, 2013

I’ve used Google’s GMail for the past few years and I pay close attention to my SPAM folder. Always have.  I’ve also signed up for Email with all sorts of political organizations.  It’s the only responsible way I know of to consider their points of view. I’ve found very legitimate Email from several such senders…

Unemployment Down; Food Stamps Up – This Does NOT Compute

May 4, 2013
By

We learned this week that unemployment – as calculated by a government that would do most anything to convince us that we’re in the midst of a great economic recovery – went down to 7.5%.  By comparison, that’s great news, but that same government forgot to tell us: 1)   Over 50 Million Americans (16%…

Can A Person Be Both Christian And Homosexual??

Let’s poke a stick into a hornet’s nest. Perhaps – just perhaps – a civil dialogue will result, although if it goes off the rails, I won’t hesitate to pull the entire post. This is about religion and sexuality, a subject that instantly shot to center-stage when a pro basketball player publicly declared himself a…

Obama Administration Investigates Itself – Finds Nothing Could Have Prevented Benghazi Deaths

Obama Administration Investigates Itself – Finds Nothing Why Are We Not Surprised? Just who’s running the show here?  Did someone sneak in, under the cover of darkness and rewrite the Constitution?  Did the powers vested in Congress just get trumped by a gang of politically motivated State Department officials?  That’s what it looks like and…

Time To Boycott ABC News Advertisers!

There comes a time when phone calls, Emails and various other forms of communication falls on deaf ears and we’re left seemingly helpless as to what action we can take next.  I’ve never been a big fan of boycotts, but the time has come. Americans need to boycott the advertisers of ABC News, and do…

Affordable Health Care May Be Neither!

It takes many years of education and training to become a physician: 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 3 to 8 years of internship and residency, depending on the specialty selected. A few medical schools offer a combined undergraduate and medical school programs that last 6 rather than the customary…

Man Made Climate Change – My Patutti

Man Made Climate Change – My Patutti

Just a few days ago (19th and 20th) everyone was talking about “the big storm in the northeast”.  By actual measurement, I recorded 15 inches of snow from this event. It was horrible, I tell you. Man-made climate change advocates pointed to that storm and declared it proof positive of their claims.  Of course, they…

Why Is SCOTUS Hearing Religious Matters?

Why Is SCOTUS Hearing Religious Matters?

I’m trying hard to wrap my elderly brain around the current US Supreme Court case involving marriage and the benefits issue that married, heterosexual couples receive and gay/lesbian couples do not.  It’s troubling to me on several levels. I’m Catholic and certainly don’t approve of same-sex marriage, but I’m also wise enough to know that…

Quote of the Week

“Tornadoes form below a class of severe thunderstorms known as supercells. Supercells feature intense upward moving columns of air that rotate, as the wind near the surface is drawn into those columns it begins to rotate and forms the tornado vortex. The damage attributed to tornadoes is caused by the strong winds in the vortex and flying debris.

“Oklahoma sits within an area of the United States commonly referred to as ‘tornado alley’ – this area is amongst the most frequent locations of tornado occurrence in the world. At this time of year, the warm and moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and cool and dry air from above the Rocky Mountains come together to make tornado alley the perfect environment to spawn supercells and tornadoes.

“Preliminary reports of damage from the Oklahoma tornado suggest it was of EF-4 intensity, which is the second highest intensity rating. EF-4 tornadoes have wind gusts between about 265 and 320 kilometres per hour.”
