Arizona Democrat Running for Congress: Legalize Sex Work to Help Trans People of Color

Here is another bizarre Democrat running for office, who will say anything to get elected.

An LGBT person asked JoAnna Mendoza, who is running for the U.S. Congress, if she would work to decriminalize sex work because that’s often the only work “transwomen of color” can get.

Mendoza said, “Yes, and that’s, you know, once again, it’s important to ensure that there’s access to the resources, the support networks, the social services, and access to health care, you know, the eliminating the discriminatory practices and laws so that every individual has the opportunity to be able to provide for themselves. We need to stop criminalizing people for their situations.”

The reason some trans sex workers can’t get jobs is that they are not normal. They don’t look or act normal. It’s not discrimination.

Decriminalizing prostitution provides open season for traffickers, and it’s a terrible idea. The societal message alone is destructive.

She is pulling in $2.3 million quarterly, mostly from out-of-state progressives.

The Normal Opponent

A normal person is running against her. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) is confident of a win despite the millions poured into her campaign from outside Arizona.

He expects it will be another hard-fought battle to hold onto Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, telling one interviewer that recent economic legislation is resonating with voters in ways that could tip the race in his favor.

In an exclusive interview with Cactus Politics publisher Javier Manjarres, Ciscomani pointed to provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, including the elimination of taxes on tips and overtime pay, as policy wins that are connecting with everyday constituents.

Ciscomani acknowledged the district will once again be competitive, noting that Democratic outside groups have been running advertisements against him since early last year.

Ciscomani characterized Mendoza as a progressive candidate seeking to position herself as a moderate, citing her endorsement list and what he described as a record of supporting higher taxes and reduced police funding.
