Abdoulaye Dia, an undocumented immigrant from Guinea, was arrested and charged in Maryland with first-degree rape and kidnapping following an attack on a girl in a Silver Spring parking lot.
Dia, from Guinea, entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 near Lukeville, Arizona. He worked as a driver for the Empower rideshare app.
The monster faces charges of first-degree rape, kidnapping, second-degree assault, and third-degree sex offense. He is being held without bond.
Prior to the Maryland attack, DHS stated Dia was arrested in New York City in June on multiple charges including sexual abuse by forcible compulsion, forcible touching, and injuring a child under 17. Despite a request from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office to hold him on bond, a judge released him on supervised release.
Montgomery County police arrested Dia in Maryland after a victim came forward at a hospital, and detectives identified him using rideshare app data. Authorities believe there may be additional victims.
Guinea has an active smuggling and fake-document business.
