Bill Gates is sounding the usual alarms, only this time about AI. The same catastrophic messages he sent out about climate change and vaccines now apply to AI. He said recklessly that it could kill a billion people, but didn’t explain where the number came from.
Gates made the comments in an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” released on Friday. He was asked if the technology could end humanity.

Right now, AI can’t spell or write grammatically and gets many things wrong.
Don’t fall for the hysteria. There is something amiss here, and too many people with agendas are behind the growing hysteria.
Pirate Wires Daily reported that the first person to claim it will destroy humanity in ten years was Jacob Coxon. In a WSJ interview, he said he was quitting his job at Anthropic because the big labs were recklessly putting the world at risk. He then expanded on his fears in an X thread that garnered 173.8 million views and growing.
The only problem is Coxon was performing and is likely a member of the Doomer cult who carefully orchestrated the launch of AI hysteria.

The speed and volume of the attention and coverage seemed suspicious to many (including Elon Musk). They noted that Anthropic’s alignment chief immediately weighed in to affirm Jacob’s argument; that he had worked at Anthropic for just four months; that he’d scored a fancy blob media interview on his first attempt; that he’d recently worked for a left-wing political advocacy group; that his X account was largely inactive prior to his thread; that his first post received reposts from prominent AI doomer organizations and personalities within 15 minutes.
Something bad is afoot.
