First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli in Los Angeles said on Friday that election fraud arrests have begun in California. He announced the arrest of a Honduran noncitizen who got on the state’s voter rolls by claiming he was a U.S. citizen.
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores was taken into custody and charged with two felonies: unlawfully registering to vote and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship.
If convicted, Flores faces prison time and deportation.
We need publicized examples, and they need the book thrown at them.
The administration is using a multi-pronged approach to curbing illegal immigration and election fraud. California won’t allow voter ID, will use ballot harvesting, will send mail-in ballots to everyone, and will use other tactics to weaken election security. This is another way to approach reining them in.

This morning we arrested and federally charged a Honduran national for unlawfully registering to vote in California and falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen.
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores, 30, of Winnetka, is charged with two felonies and faces deportation if convicted.
Because states like California allow non-citizens to easily register to vote and receive a ballot by mail, there is no telling how many non-citizens are currently registered.
It is time for California to comply with @AAGDhillon’s request for a comprehensive audit of its voter rolls to protect the integrity of our elections.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
