Coalition Tries to Stop Paramount as Rumors of Musk Buying CNN Spread

A coalition of groups working under the Block the Merger banner has filed an emergency request to oppose Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery ahead of the relevant court hearing in California this morning. They are desperate. They must have heard the rumors that Musk might buy into Paramount or buy CNN.

The motion asks the court to allow interested parties to file an amicus brief and present legal arguments. It was filed Thursday morning in federal court in California, where Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín is still deciding whether to approve the $111 billion deal.

Elon Musk Might Buy Into Paramount

Paramount is taking over Warner Bros. Discovery, which means CNN will fall under the Ellison family’s leadership. Now they’ve reportedly spoken with Elon Musk about investing.

CNN spent years viciously misinforming the public about Elon Musk, using the most acrimonious invective, attacking X, attacking free speech, and acting as if he were a Nazi when he is the opposite.

And now Elon could potentially own a piece of the company owning CNN.

Jake Tapper, Erin Burnett, Wolf Blitzer, Dana Bash, and the not-so-adorable Kaitlan Collins, Abby Phillips, Christiane Amanpour, or any of them, will see Elon Musk and the Ellisons in their morning coffee when they wake up. They’ll see them on their way to work and when they try to report fake news.

Trish Regan discussed Musk buying CNN:

CNN was preparing for its funeral, but it would actually be a makeover of sorts.
