Michigan senatorial candidate El-Sayed spoke on a podcast in October 2025. That was only eight months ago. He said Americans are “atomized” and “desperate to feel something.” He believes strongly that America is a mess with “white supremacy,” exposing his racist bent.
Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed compared the US unfavorably to Egypt, claiming the US lacks “community” and “humanity.”
“I think the hardest part about American life right now is that we’ve been, like, deeply atomized,” El-Sayed said, arguing that the connections offered through phones and social media are “not community.” In Egypt and other societies with far more constant human interaction, he said, “you’re constantly enveloped in other people’s humanity.”
Rather than change us into Egypt because he thinks that is what we need, why doesn’t he just move to Egypt?
El-Sayed said he had watched American politics “revert to a strain of White supremacy and racism I never thought we’d go back to.”
No, he didn’t watch any such thing. He watched propaganda and jumped on it. El Sayed doesn’t have a clue as to what Americanism is.
Egypt Lacks Freedom and Democracy, So No Thanks
Egypt is an authoritarian dictatorship. Abdel Fattah el Sisi seized power in a coup from a worse leader in 2013. He transitioned to civilian president through elections that independent observers and human rights organizations describe as tightly controlled, repressive, and lacking genuine opposition.
The administration cracks down on dissent, and tortures and arrests members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. It’s a mixed bag, but not democratic.
This is what El Sayed would like to see in Michigan.
