Barack Obama said that it is not likely that President Trump got a better deal than he did. President Trump responded to that comment. “Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon,” as Donald Trump explained. It gave Iran the right to build the bomb after nine years.
This agreement between the U.S. and Iran ends the conflict. The IRGC Commander will not stand in the way of the deal despite disagreeing with it. The Ayatollah’s demands were also not met. They let it go to further negotiations.
While this is going on, the IRGC seems to have sidelined the Mullahs and is consolidating power.
As usual, if it isn’t codified by Congress, it is only good until Democrats return to power. Congress could pass a law with 50 members as they did with the last agreement. Unfortunately, they don’t seem inclined to codify anything. Meanwhile, President Trump will officially sign the deal on the 19th.
The hardliners (they are all hardline, but some are worse than others) are angry over the deal.
Iranian hardliners have mounted a rearguard rejection of a deal with the US as they say it does not guarantee sanctions relief, compensation, or control of the Strait of Hormuz.
“The fact that they say we won and America has retreated is a blatant lie,” said the Iranian MP Kamran Ghazanfari. Meysam Nili, the managing director of Rajanews and brother-in-law of the hardline former president Ebrahim Raisi, called the deal on the table a catastrophic capitulation. He urged Iranians not to sit quietly.
Iranian officials led by Mehdi Mohammadi, an adviser to the head of the negotiating team, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, mounted a detailed rebuttal in an audio message insisting the deal would end the war, including Israel’s offensive in Lebanon, and that Tehran has not been required to make any new commitments on its nuclear programme, leaving the means of disposal of its highly enriched uranium – including down-blending inside Iran – to future discussions lasting 60 days.
Mohammadi also said that by referring to “Iranian arrangements”, the text would allow Iran and Oman to charge fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and would even prevent Israeli commercial ships from using the waterway.
We will have to await the President’s word on the deal, which will come today.
Iran declared victory, saying it had imposed its will on the enemy.

The IRGC outlet Fars claims:
RGC-affiliated Fars News reported on Monday, citing an informed source, that “important changes” were made to the final text of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. The source said the changes explicitly affirmed what he called Iran and Oman’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and their role in determining the future of maritime services there. The source said that Iran would accept toll-free passage for ships through the Strait of Hormuz for only 60 days, adding that Tehran planned to offer safety, navigation, environmental, and insurance services afterward and to use revenue from commercial ship traffic for economic development.
However, Fars lies. They also put out the same 14 points again yesterday and claimed that was the deal.
The IRGC allegedly closed the Strait again. Hopefully, it’s to remove mines.
Fars News: The Strait of Hormuz is closed until further notice. The IRGC Navy has blocked all vessel traffic for more than 96 hours.
