Former CIA Director John Brennan, portraying himself as a victim, sued the Justice Department on Wednesday. He demanded they preserve all records related to its ongoing investigation into him. He said they are targeting him out of vindictiveness and he is being prosecuted for “phantom criminal conduct.”
And it’s Trump’s fault, he claims.
The NY Times report:
Brennan has been under investigation in Florida as part of a sweeping probe into the 2016 election, the cases related to President Trump. “Given these strong indicia of vindictiveness, Director Brennan expects that he will forcefully challenge any eventual indictment as the product of an unconstitutionally vindictive and selective prosecution,” Brennan’s attorneys wrote in the filing.
“Given the government’s questionable recent history with respect to its record preservation and other legal obligations, however, Director Brennan has a well-founded concern that those records and communications will not be preserved until such time as the court can review them for evidence of unconstitutional vindictiveness.”
The fact is, he could win cases as they proceed up the judicial ladder. Even if the evidence is against the DoJ, the case could go his way. The courts are filled with radicals who hate Trump.
Brennan was very responsible for the Russia hoax. Perhaps he knows he is about to be cooked.
The Times doesn’t mention the Russia hoax.
John Brennan went on the network which doubles as his PR firm to declare he’s “going on the offensive” and is suing the Trump administration.
“He says we were abusing our authorities. Well, in fact, it’s the opposite. Enough is enough.”
