Unverified Mosques in Germany
German security agencies have raised concerns that newly arrived migrants and asylum-seekers frequenting certain Arabic-language and informal “backyard” mosques are vulnerable to outreach from extremist networks. However, there is no official system of “secret mosque credentials”; rather, intelligence services monitor unverified, self-proclaimed preachers operating inside fringe religious spaces.
German federal and state intelligence officials have tracked numerous instances where known radical Islamists targeted incoming refugees near or inside unvetted religious locations.
These radical mosques are recruiting refugees.
German domestic intelligence (BfV) has actively monitored dozens of conservative or Arabic-speaking mosque communities suspected of hosting radical preachers or spreading anti-constitutional rhetoric.
Many informal or underfunded prayer spaces operate without state-accredited imams, creating a gap that allows self-appointed figures to exert influence without standard theological training or credentials.
Are radicals sending their radicals here to vote? Probably!
