John Cornyn Might Be Up to No Good

Failed Texas Senate candidate John Cornyn said he would endorse and back Ken Paxton after his dramatic loss in the primary. He hasn’t done that yet. In fact, he amplified Ted Brown, the libertarian candidate, who has an under 2% performance in races.

Cornyn isn’t stupid. He knows Brown will take votes from Republicans, and it is possible he would prefer a radical Democrat to the man who defeated him by a massive margin, Ken Paxton.

They don’t call him a RINO for nothing.

Most remarkably, he is now denying the X post he sent, which gave Brown a megaphone.

Uh, no, John, it is not fake news. Someone needs to check on him.

Brown has no chance in the Senate race, none. He never polls to even 2%. He only siphons votes from Republicans.

Why can’t failed politicians just go away? He got his pension and whatever speaking engagements or books he can line up. He should take it and run.

He then said the fake news is that he is promoting Ted Brown. The article Cornyn linked to claimed that Brown could bring the election to a runoff, which they have since rescinded. Brown is also telling disaffected voters to vote for him because he is the limited government, freedom candidate, which is what Paxton is.

Cornyn is being cagey here.

Cornyn needs to stop giving Brown a platform, boosting his profile. For his part, Brown knows he is a spoiler. He told Houston Public Media he is appealing to voters who “aren’t satisfied with the primary results.” The interviewer then asked him if that didn’t make him a spoiler. Brown answered snidely, “Frankly, you can’t spoil something that’s rotten and putrid to begin with.”
