James O’Keefe visited Unalaska to test Lisa Murkowski’s claim that Unalaska residents have to travel 800 miles to get an ID. That was one of the excuses for not voting for the SAVE Act. She said that a person living on a small Alaska island would not be able to vote if the SAVE America Act were passed because they would have to travel all the way to Anchorage to get an ID.

O’Keefe asked a local DMV employee in Unalaska, “We don’t have to go to Anchorage to get an ID?” The employee responded, “No, you can come here.”

An Unalaska resident confirmed voting takes place at City Hall and said residents “Don’t have to go to Anchorage [to register to vote or obtain ID].”

After visiting the library, DMV, City Hall, post office, and speaking directly with residents, O’Keefe reported: “Everybody here [Unalaska residents] is contradicting what Lisa Murkowski is saying [Have to travel to Anchorage to register to vote or obtain ID].”
