The Spanish invasion crisis isn’t over yet, and many of the invaders are still in Ceuta and Melilla. Up to 75,000 crossed into Ceuta, and the invaders say Moroccan police encouraged them to invade.
The New York Times reported overnight Friday that at least some of the migrants said Moroccan police had encouraged them to cross into Spanish territory, telling them to “enter Spain.” Within 24 hours, at least 60,000 people reportedly entered Ceuta, a figure equivalent to nearly 70% of the enclave’s total population. Spain’s central government put the number slightly lower, at about 50,000.
Other reports say 75,000.
Some rumors claim Israel and the US did it as payback for Spain’s lack of support. There is zero evidence for that.

New information from several military and civilian intelligence sources suggests that the Spanish government had advance warning of the risk of a mass arrival of migrants in the North African exclave of Ceuta this week.
Intelligence alerts were issued over several days, including in the hours immediately before tens of thousands of people crossed from Morocco, sources said.
Intelligence services, consulted by The Objective media, had warned that King Mohammed VI was likely to make a “gesture of magnanimity” at the border to coincide with Morocco’s Throne Day celebrations. Those initial warnings were followed by reports of migrants swimming across from Fnideq, known as Castillejos in Spanish, and buses carrying people from different parts of Morocco towards the border.

The Times of Israel goes deeper and claims it goes to Sanchez’s reckless geopolitical policies. Morocco was paying him back by showing him that Spain’s border security is in their hands.
