The Federalist tried to obtain the records of the 6,600 noncitizens who registered to vote in New Jersey. They are public records. Nevertheless, New Jersey refused to turn them over.
The excuse was that they won’t release them while a state investigation is ongoing.
Sherrill said the foreign nationals “were registered as Democrats, Republicans, and majority unaffiliated and were scattered across the state.” But she has refused to provide anything close to specific numbers.
We don’t care what party they registered with: It’s illegal.
They Likely Won’t Give Them to the DoJ Either
Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, requested the names of the 6,600 individuals identified — their “full names, dates of birth, nationalities, residential addresses, and registration dates and locations.”
Mikie or Mikey Sherrill said it was a software “glitch,” and the software company said it wasn’t. The software company gave New Jersey exactly what it wanted: the 6,600 people included in the registered voters lists. The company said the 6,600 wanted to vote, according to NJ officials.
Dhillon also wants the detailed information on the nearly 400,000 who did vote.
New Jersey will resist turning the records over despite the federal government’s legal right to them.
They will probably drag it out until President Trump is out of office. Why are they allowed to refuse and bring it to court when the law is so clear?
“We are not in the practice of turning over this kind of personally identifying data over to the federal government because we have seen them weaponize it; I’ve seen it personally,” Sherrill told Democracy Docket, operated by Russia Collusion hoax peddler and leftist lawfare kingpin Marc Elias. “They are working to weaponize personal data, and they don’t have a reputation for keeping it private either.”
