North Carolina Senate candidate Michael Whatley details the frightening reality of how his opponent endangered millions of Americans by releasing thousands of criminals from prison during COVID:
- 2,200 of them have been rearrested, hundreds of them for assault
- 99 of them committed sexual crimes—sexual assault, rape, child porn charges
- 25 went on to commit murder
“It’s legitimately a mystery to me why anyone votes Democrat. Not only are they letting foreign criminals into our country by the millions, but they refuse to keep homegrown violent rapists and murderers in prison. You are less safe and more likely to be murdered because of Democrats.”
Nationally, in 1989, about 66% to 82% of formerly incarcerated individuals were rearrested within 3 to 10 years of release, with roughly 40% ultimately returning to prison. Reportedly, it has improved in most states. In New York, it has allegedly improved by 54%. If you live in New York, you wouldn’t believe that. We have a million illegal migrants, many of whom are criminals.
North Carolina is one of the states with a higher rate of incarceration in the past ten years. Maybe North Carolina’s reporting is accurate.
The media will blame recidivism on a lack of housing and jobs, but never on the fact that criminals like to commit crimes. If they don’t fear the repercussions, they like committing crimes even more.
