Obama Judge Blocks Administration from Removing Somali TPS

U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs in Boston temporarily blocked the Trump administration from ending TPS for Somalis. This court order pauses the termination, allowing thousands of Somali nationals to keep their protection from deportation and legal work authorization while the lawsuit continues.

Judge Burroughs issued an initial administrative stay on March 13, 2026, stopping the administration’s planned March 17 termination of Somalia’s TPS designation.

U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs, appointed by former President Barack Obama, issued the administrative stay Friday after African Communities Together and other plaintiffs filed an amended complaint alleging the Trump administration violated the Fifth Amendment by terminating Somalia’s TPS designation based on racial and national-origin discrimination.

She wants to hear more evidence and see more briefs.

The Supreme Court decision means nothing to these people. They delay, delay, delay, just to keep all illegal aliens in the country for their little army of voters and ne’er-do-wells, including the fraudsters.
