Return of the RINOs: Mike Pence Is Leading the Way

“Look, if you look at where the Democratic Party is today, I mean, it’s amazing to see Republicans in part have lost our way with the embrace of the populist right [driven by grievance],” Pence said.

Mike Pence is running the media circuit to promote his new book, What Conservatives Believe. It should really be titled What RINOs Believe. While he espouses conservative beliefs, he does not live by them. He seems to think that right-wing populists are driven by grievance as they try to save the country. As he lives in his bubble, the rest of us see a more authoritarian Democrat Party consuming state after state and running them into the ground.

Pence’s view:

“Look, from all of my adult life, the Republican Party has been defined by a commitment to a conservative agenda to America as the leader of the free world, to limited government, free market economics, and traditional moral values, especially the right to life. And I’m proud to say that from the Reagan administration to the first Trump administration, we governed on that agenda.

“But I wrote what conservatives believe because just in the last four or five years, there’s been a rise of what I call the populist right that focuses more on what we’re against than what we’re for, focuses more on grievance than a positive conservative agenda.

“ I mean the conservative movement has always been at battling politically with the progressive left but now there’s a new threat from the populist right that would embrace policies of isolationism abroad that would embrace the government and protectionism at home marginalized the right to life and as we go into this falls’ elections and go into 2028, I thought it was important that we take a moment as a party and as a movement to remind ourselves what we believe.”

Unfortunately, both parties have used the right to life issue as a political weapon, and to no avail. Focusing on that has not worked. No one is dropping it, but we have to win the country right now. Sometimes it is best to put it on the back burner. When faced with an authoritarian takeover, that should probably take precedence. I am more concerned about my pope putting the issue on the back burner.

RINO Business As Usual

Mike Pence wants business as usual with RINOs calling the shots in a very gentlemanly bipartisan fashion. However, what he whitewashes in his dialogue is the fact that the Democrat Party is being taken over by progressives. Indeed, the term “progressive”  is a euphemistic term for socialists and communists. They are basically the same in that they are all leading to one thing, complete authoritarianism. Pence also seems to think that we’re set on isolationism. However, the overwhelming number of what he calls populists are sticking by Donald Trump, even as he tries to eliminate a very serious threat in the Middle East.

While I didn’t want President Trump to go into the Middle East, he is the only president in decades who has had the courage to take on this existential threat. This threat isn’t only a threat against Israel, it’s a threat against the world.

The Iranian regime killed nearly 50,000 of its own people in two days earlier this year. They have been bombing the Gulf nations mercilessly, people who are not their enemies. If they wanted nuclear for peaceful means, they wouldn’t be hiding it deep within the mountains. And they would accept the US offer of giving them free nuclear material, enough for peaceful means. I believe they want to bomb us all to Hell, not just Israel, but anyone who doesn’t abide by their rules.

Pence Is Positioning Himself for the Return of the RINOs

Mike Pence is interested in becoming the leader of the conservative movement despite being a RINO when the going gets tough. And while it’s true President Trump doesn’t always lead as a conservative, he does lead as a common-sense candidate, which is mostly what conservatism is.

Pence named several issues, such as limited government, that are important. However, it is President Trump, and only President Trump, who has been trying to cut the size of government more than any other president. He has exposed the wasteful entities, such as USAID and the Institute of Peace, and abolished them as they existed.

As for his fear that we are isolationists, we’re in the Middle East fighting and have funded the endless Ukraine war for over five years. Funding is still going around the world. We are bankrupt, and something has to give. Spending is what has to give.

Giving Democrats Ammunition

He addressed the President’s stance against the radical left.

“Look, if you look at where the Democratic Party is today, I mean it’s it’s amazing to see Republicans in part have lost our way with the with the embrace of the populist right.

“Democrats have have gone over the beam with embracing socialist candidates and socialist policies.”

Brennan prompted him to insult Ken Paxton. …

“I just want to make sure people understand that as we worked through all these elections this year, there’s a new force afoot in the Republican Party, and I think we gotta get back to those core values and principles that have always made our country and our party strong and prosperous.”

Brennan prompted him to back up Bill Cassidy, who lost his seat because he is a RINO, not simply because he tried to impeach President Trump.

“I I don’t know precisely what the president’s reasons for for weighing in in Louisiana pretty explicitly the way that he did. So you know we have we haven’t chatted in a while, but yeah I I you know I I’ll be honest with you that I’ll never minimize what happened on January 6th. And I’ll always believe by God’s grace, so we did our duty that day to the seat of the peaceful transfer of power under the Constitution.

“It’s it’s one of the reasons why I this talk of an anti-weaponization fund, Margaret. The idea of creating a fund that could compensate people who who assaulted police officers and vandalized the capital that day is totally unacceptable. My hope is the administration will drop it. Drop the idea entirely. And I think Senate Republicans will make them drop it because it’s hard stand up to the president. Many Republicans find well because what you just said it is primaries in those midterms it it is but I I’ve been heartened by the number of Republicans in the Senate have spoken out against it.

“Look that people that assaulted police officers on January 6th and vandalized the capital should not get 1 dime of taxpayer money from that fund or anywhere else. …

“I want to explicitly ask you about something also that happened in Washington, we don’t need slush funds to settle cases.”

We would have liked to hear each case brought before those who would dispense the funds. RINOs and Democrats don’t want the truth.

Pence Says Trump Is Whitewashing J6

Margaret Brennan asked Mike Pence if the administration was whitewashing January 6.
This is his response.

“Particularly, I I was offended on the anniversary of January 6th when the White House put out a timeline that literally blamed Capitol Hill police for the riot that took place that day. Look, I’m I’m very confident that of the judgment of history in the years ahead about our role, about all the Republicans and Democrats who returned that day after Capitol Police secured the Capitol and we all did our duty under the Constitution but there there’s clearly been an effort by some to rewrite that history, but I I don’t expect that will happen.”

The RINO Blackwashing January 6

To coin a new term, Mike Pence is deliberately blackwashing (not referencing people, just color) January 6. An overwhelming number of people on January 6th did nothing except trespass; they walked through. They were peaceful. We now have some of the video to prove it.

People who were trespassers were treated like terrorists deliberately to make it seem worse than it was, so is President Trump whitewashing, or is he just trying to bring it to reality?

Mike Pence behaved hysterically, claiming they were trying to kill him. He knew he was exaggerating.

I’m not a fan of slush funds either. However, without funds, how do these January 6 people who did nothing but trespass get their lives back? Hundreds were bankrupted by extraordinarily harsh penalties that no one has ever received for trespassing. So how else do you help them? The only way to help them is to give them funds. That way, they can address it directly with the DoJ and be compensated. They obviously don’t have the funds to sue if they’re bankrupt. President Trump has no intention of giving money to people who rioted or hurt police officers that day. Pence knows that. Todd Blanche made that clear. Pence is subtly dishonest.
