People, especially Jewish people, think JD Vance is somehow antisemitic because he’s still friends with Tucker Carlson. He also drew harsh criticism for some comments. I think it’s mostly over the following comment on Joe Rogan’s show.
US Vice President JD Vance identifies two “critical mistakes” among pro-Israel factions, specifically warning against the failure to differentiate between American and Israeli national interests and the tendency to categorize all policy critique as antisemitism.
I think that’s a legitimate comment. It doesn’t sound antisemitic to me.
Journalist and author Batya Ungar-Sargon calls herself a “Marxist,” a “pro-Trump Marxist,” or a “vulgar Marxist.” She is very critical of JD Vance and insists he must drop his friend Tucker Carlson. To me, it shows Vance’s strong character that he doesn’t let some of Tucker’s failings end a friendship despite negative publicity.
Sean Davis pointed to Batya’s failure to ever do anything to help the right. That’s true, and she is always on conservative TV to discuss Israel and foreign affairs.
You put nothing on the line. You’re a self-described leftist and Marxist who changed teams five seconds ago so you could henpeck foreign policy and who never lifted a finger to help anyone to your right who was ever actually targeted for destruction of their political views.

The Vulgar Marxist
Journalist and commentator Batya Ungar-Sargon has occasionally described herself as a Marxist or left-wing populist, combining traditional class-based critiques of economic elites with right-leaning populist and pro-Trump political alignment.
The author self-describes as a left-wing populist and pro-Trump Marxist, and she believes that supposed ideological and demographical divides are misleading.
“We think of this country as having a political divide, but we are actually not divided politically,” she told The Post. “The real divide in this country is along class lines — between an over-credentialed college elite and the working class.
She has gone from progressive to outspoken critic of “woke” culture. Woke was a bridge too far, but for some of us, progressive and woke are indistinguishable, and progressivism led to woke.
She highlights her identification as a Marxist or “vulgar Marxist” and the fact that she completed a literature Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, the bastion of academic leftism. Oddly though, she has become a regular guest in conservative media outlets, including Fox News.
In recent months, she has been defending JD Vance and Donald Trump as “true champions of the working class,” even arguing that this is why the media no longer praises Vance. She also said that “the true hatred for Trump stems from, and for anyone willing to join him in standing for the American working class against those who look down on it.”
Now, she is unhappy with JD Vance. However, Vance is not acting like disagreements with policy about the Israel war are foreign opposition or RINOism. He simply wants America First, as he said. Sometimes that line isn’t drawn.
