The Smithsonian Director Anthea Hartig sounds a bit elitist. All she had in answer to Rep. Gill’s question was a smirk. She believes in white supremacy and advertises it. She has no business running the Smithsonian if she won’t answer this question and explain why she promotes it as part of our culture. It sounds very racist.
Rep Gill: “Is it important to be polite?”
Smithsonian Director Anthea Hartig: “Yes, sir.”
Rep Gill: “Your organization says ‘politeness’ is White Supremacy culture… are you a white supremacist?”pic.twitter.com/cPE3NhN3HJ

Smithsonian’s “white supremacy” list:
✅ individualism, self-reliance
✅ nuclear family structures
✅ rational, linear thinking
✅ work before you play
✅ plan for the future
✅ protect property
✅ avoid conflicts
✅ manage time
✅ be polite pic.twitter.com/rDTU6m6Lpf— End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) July 21, 2026
Here is another question she struggled to answer.
Tim Burchett asked Ms. Hartig, “You have pictures of bondage, overtly sexual things, transgender folks, in another exhibit a 6-year-old girl asked why she doesn’t have male genitalia, do you think that’s appropriate?”
Smithsonian Director Anthea Hartig: “I understand your question, BUT…”
She added that it was temporary and wasn’t designed for children. She said that information was shared with parents. However, if this is what the Smithsonian puts on display, it represents American culture. Is this what we want in the USA now?
