Speaker Johnson Warns of the Dark, Dangerous Road to Communism

Scott Jennings spoke with Speaker Johnson on the phone during his podcast and asked him what he is hearing on the campaign trail.

“Well, the people get it. Okay, they understand the stakes are so high. They understand this is a midterm unlike any other. This one really does decide the fate of the country, and Scott, if somebody had told you and me 10 years ago that on the 250th anniversary of the greatest nation in the history of the world in November of 2026 in a midterm election, we would have the decision before the American people on whether we’re going to keep the republic or go down that dark, dangerous road to communism, I would have rejected that thought. I do, would have as well. None of us could have been this, but here we are, and that’s exactly what we’re facing.”

He mentioned that the polls are oversampling Democrats and undersampling Republican voters. I saw that myself in an article about the latest poll for Governor Hochul. The article claimed she was leading in New York City but barely behind Bruce Blakeman in Upstate. They completely ignored Long Island, where he wins hands-down.

“Republican voters don’t respond to polls anymore, and some of them are beginning to admit that Pew Research admitted that a couple of weeks ago. So set this polling aside.”

Speaker Johnson is encouraged by what he sees on the ground and laments the fact that people are blaming Trump for the increases under Biden. He listed several economic successes.

“The largest middle- and working-class tax cut ever. We got 1.6 trillion dollars in revenue. We reversed. Biden, there are massive regulations that are burdensome by common sense. We got tax funding and, over time, Social Security. For working families, we got the lowest violent crime rate in 12 years. We have the most secure border in a half-century. We haven’t had a single illegal daily release in the country in over 16 straight months. We’ve got Trump accounts for every job. We have the first-ever nationwide school choice programs. The biggest drop in prescription drug prices in 60 years. We got companies bringing manufacturing back to America, and we added a million private sector jobs. Inflation has held steady. It needs to come down further. We have the policies supposed to do it. Wages are going up. We have more Americans working right now.”…
