We are seeing fighting across the seas, the Caribbean, the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, the Black Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz. Professor Sal Mercogliano contends that shipping wars got us into World War I and World War II.
Professor Mercogliano reviews each in this clip for those interested. He said the MOU “sucks” because its wording is unclear. Professor Sal said that, according to articles 4 and 5, it appears the U.S. gave Iran 60 days to run the traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Under the right of passage, Iran cannot block passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Sal fears the escalation of a naval war.

President Trump is hitting anything used to harass shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. He is currently considering reinstating the blockade, but “it will only be a blockade for Iran.”
