Pro-criminal New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani watched the World Cup game between England and Argentina alongside his voting bloc, the prisoners at Rikers Island. He plans to empty out Rikers, and there won’t be enough room in the new prisons he claims he will build in residential neighborhoods. You can expect that some of these prisoners will end up on our streets.
Zohran is against prisons and the entire carceral state. In other words, he doesn’t believe in the police either. He canceled the hiring of 500 new police officers and now plans to cut 1,000. When we have riots in the city, the police are vastly outnumbered and are mostly ordered to stand down. They aren’t allowed to do a thing about the growing tent cities of drug addicted homeless, drug dealers, thieves, and prostitutes pushing businesses out of the city.
Zohran vows to close Rikers. The prison has issues, but it is because it houses the worst criminals to hit our streets. They are the worst of the worst. Zohran loves them but rarely talks about victims unless they’re in his voting bloc.
I know all about Rikers; I had a family member there, and he was a monster.
