The US Senate Rejects the Save America Act

The usual suspects refused to attach the SAVE America Act to the budget reconciliation package. Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, and every Democrat rejected it. There are probably others who opposed it, but they are hiding behind these four Republicans.

SAVE America is an 80-20 issue, and they don’t care.

The legislation would have required voters to present documentary proof of citizenship, such as a passport, certified birth certificate, or naturalization papers, when registering to vote in person. It also mandated photo identification at the polls and allowed private lawsuits against election officials who registered voters without the specified documents.

Critics argued these requirements would create barriers for millions of eligible voters, including married women, rural residents, young voters, low-income Americans, and people of color, many of whom lack immediate access to the necessary documents.

It would prevent 20 million illegal aliens from voting. They are the only people who couldn’t get a legitimate ID.

Some Republicans and every Democrat continue to refuse to codify the administration’s agenda.
