Tucker Carlson on Thursday claimed former FBI deputy Dan Bongino privately told him that Trump himself shut down efforts to continue digging into the Butler shooting. Tucker is the new Zoltar. Put a coin in him, and who knows what will come out. Tucker throws things up on the wall until something gets him clicks.

Carlson’s Trying to Start a Conspiracy to Hurt President Trump

Appearing on Mario Nawfal’s program, Carlson described what he said was a deeply unsettling series of conversations with Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel regarding lingering mysteries tied to the July 2024 attack.

Carlson said his concerns intensified after he allegedly obtained social media material connected to Crooks that authorities had previously suggested did not exist.

According to Carlson, “I know that, about Butler, I know that Trump shut down the investigation into Butler. That is a fact. Dan Bongino told me that when he worked at the FBI,” Carlson said. He further claimed that Bongino’s reaction caught him completely off guard. “Dan Bongino himself was terrified when I spoke to him in December,” Carlson said.

Carlson recounted contacting both Patel and Bongino after reviewing the alleged material linked to Crooks. He said he was only concerned about actions taken before Butler. Carlson said that Bongino reacted emotionally and defensively. “Dan Bongino became hysterical with me on the phone,” Carlson said. “I’ve known Dan a long time for many years and always gotten along with him.”

Carlson said that after phone calls and text exchanges, Bongino told him, “Ultimately, after a long series of text exchanges, which I still have, and phone conversations, he said, ‘Look, take it up with Trump. He’s the one who shut down the investigation.’”

Carlson has argued that the aftermath of the shooting coincided with significant shifts in Trump’s approach to foreign policy and national security.

The background on this is important. The Left has tried to claim that the Trump attempted assassination was fake. The right has demanded more transparency. Tucker is clearly trying to stir up significant problems for the administration.

Bongino Brought Receipts

Unsurprisingly, Bongino came out swinging. On Friday morning, he blasted Carlson’s account and promised evidence to disprove it. “More receipts incoming on my show today that the nepo baby is lying again,” Bongino wrote on X.

“He’s like Teddy Ruxpin, you put a coin in his back, and he tells you a story.”

Carlson insists he has texts and conversations that back up his version of events. Bongino says Carlson is flat-out lying and promises proof. We haven’t seen Carlson’s evidence, but Dan Bongino shared the Tucker texts, and there is no information that agrees with Carlson’s claims.

Since I’ve caught Tucker in a number of lies, I don’t even think the truth is somewhere in between. I believe Dan Bongino.
Tucker is a nut.
