You won’t hear this in the media, but hopefully the news will get out. Retail sales are growing at 6%. Business investment in machinery, equipment, and data centers is up over 20%. Productivity has been growing for the last two years, 3% annually. We haven’t had that since the Reagan ’80s.”
The Atlanta Fed is saying the economy is growing at over 5% in real terms.
Kudlow Report
“The per capita income levels that were just reported from last year, because the data just came in from last year, were absolutely mind-blowingly positive.
“The highest we’ve ever seen. Highest we’ve ever: 87,460. That’s the highest, we’re up almost 3%. The poverty rate is the lowest, as you pointed out. By the way, childhood poverty is the lowest since the date over.
“… the Atlanta Fed is saying the economy is growing at over 5% in real terms. And by the by, I just saw that little riff about the inflation coming back. The problem here is we’re still hungover from Joe Biden and Jay Powell’s inflation. I mean, Kevin Warsh has inherited a 3.5% inflation rate, which he will get down, and he has taken some good steps.
“But this is a boom. Retail sales are growing at 6%. Business investment- machinery, equipment, data centers- is up over 20%. I’m not making this up. These are actual numbers. I don’t make numbers up.
“Over 20% Productivity output per hour, which is so important to the efficiency of the economy and holding down costs and inflation.
“Productivity has been growing for the last two years, 3%.. We haven’t had that since the Reagan ’80s.”
