A grand state fair highlighting American culture is set to kick off on the National Mall this week ahead of the country’s 250th anniversary. Seven states won’t have a government exhibit because they fear it might be partisan. These are governors who have already shown their contempt for American values.
The partisan accusation is absurd. Each state has an exhibit, and President Trump has nothing planned, though he hinted at a rally before July 4th. The organizers are 100% nonpartisan.
The Seven Spoilsports Are No Surprise
At least seven states led by Democratic governors have opted not to send official representatives to the “Great American State Fair,” with some raising concerns that the event is shaping up to be more partisan than it has been billed. It isn’t, and that just isn’t true. It’s a state fair, “state” being the operative word.
Massachusetts, North Carolina, Washington, Illinois, Oregon, and Connecticut all cited budget constraints in their reasons for not attending. Maine said they have scheduling issues. Pennsylvania is undecided.
Washington and Oregon claimed it’s about the money, and Oregon said it is too partisan. They are the home of Antifa, the violent fascists. Washington has Seattle, another home for Antifa.
Massachusetts Gov. Healey claims everyone is bailing on the fair. So far, it’s seven. Healey also accused President Trump of doing it to make money, WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE. She objects to a fee to help pay for the fair, so it’s not all on the federal government taxpayers.
Democrat governors think anything Trump does is partisan, even though he’s not even a conservative. They also don’t want Republicans to look good.
Some Democrats think God and love of country are partisan, so it’s hard to meet their needs.
The fair’s organizer, Freedom 250, said all 50 states and U.S. territories will be represented, regardless of direct involvement from state governments.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and if the far left has its way, we won’t make the next milestone.
It’s Run by Nonpartisan Organizers
Freedom 250 has repeatedly stressed that its work is not partisan, and event organizers told The Hill that every state and territory received an invitation to participate in the fair.
“Freedom 250 is a nonpartisan organization, full stop — and our track record of collaboration across red, blue, and purple states speaks for itself,” Reisner said.
However, the planning committee’s work has at times been overshadowed by President Trump’s involvement in the celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary. Some entertainers dropped out because the White House is peripherally involved. How could they not be involved?
