According to Politico, Senator Ruben Gallego repeatedly used campaign funds for luxury family outings, including trips to Disneyland and Disney World.
He has tapped the campaign committee for $18,000 for childcare since 2019, including $400 to his wife’s mother for babysitting.
Interestingly, he used a joint campaign account with former Rep. Eric Swalwell, who could soon face criminal charges.
He used campaign cash to attend the Super Bowl in 2023 with his wife. While these funds can be used for travel, food, and childcare, they are never for personal use. His wife and children frequently accompanied him when he had to travel, and they made a family vacation out of it.
His campaign account became his personal slush fund.
Gallego said, “This is not breaking news. With the rising cost of child care and the burden it has on the budgets of American families.”
Democrats and Republicans in Congress and the White House regularly travel with their wives and children, as is permitted by the FEC.
However, just let a Republican try to get away with this. The campaign finance laws were forced in by Democrats so they could be weaponized against Republicans, not Democrats.
Gallego wants to run for president in 2028. He will undoubtedly continue his wild spending if he wins or even if he doesn’t. He was a frequent companion of Eric Swalwell, which does put him and his character in focus.
Ruben Gallego is extremely far left.
Most congressmen pay for their own vacations.
