The Assembly of Experts called for the assassinations of President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement signed by 63 of 88 members, The Telegraph reported Tuesday.

The”experts” declared them “mahdour al-dam,” an Islamic legal term generally referring to someone whose blood is considered forfeit or who deserves to die.

According to The Telegraph, the statement said killing “the criminal American president” and “the wicked prime minister of the Zionist regime” was a religious duty and that anyone who had the opportunity to do so “must not” neglect it. The report said the statement described avenging the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in February as “paramount.

They couldn’t declare a formal fatwa since only individual clerics do that. The secretariat tried to distance itself from the statement even though the overwhelming majority voted for it.

The state-run Iranian newspaper Hamshahri featured Trump on its front page Tuesday beneath the headline “Revenge Is Certain,” alongside an article highlighting calls by senior clerics and lawmakers for retaliation over Khamenei’s death.

These rulers are monsters and fanatics. Many of us wished he hadn’t. However, Trump bombed them, but they have been attacking the U.S. for decades, and their affiliates have been bombing ships, US bases, and Israel. The Houthis never stopped droning ships passing through international waters.
